Trust and transparency are important to The Psyche Inspire.
This Affiliate Disclosure explains how the website may use affiliate links in the future, how such relationships will be identified and how we intend to protect editorial independence.
Current Affiliate Status
The Psyche Inspire does not currently publish affiliate links or participate in an active affiliate-marketing programme.
We also do not currently publish paid sponsored posts or display paid advertisements.
This page has been prepared in advance so that readers can understand the standards we will follow if affiliate links or other commercial relationships are introduced in the future.
If our monetisation practices change, this disclosure will be updated before or when those practices begin.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially tracked link supplied by a retailer, service provider or affiliate network.
If a reader clicks an affiliate link and completes a qualifying purchase or action, The Psyche Inspire may receive a commission or referral fee.
A commission is paid by the relevant merchant or affiliate provider. It is not charged separately to the reader.
The product price, availability, refund terms and other conditions are determined by the external merchant. Readers should verify this information directly before completing a purchase.
How Affiliate Links Will Be Disclosed
If affiliate links are introduced, they will be disclosed clearly and close to the relevant recommendation or link.
We will not rely only on this general Affiliate Disclosure page.
An article containing affiliate links may include a notice such as:
Affiliate disclosure: This article contains affiliate links. If you make a qualifying purchase through one of these links, The Psyche Inspire may receive a commission. This does not increase the price charged by us or influence our editorial conclusions.
Where appropriate, individual links may also be identified with wording such as:
- Affiliate link
- Paid link
- We may earn a commission
- Sponsored
- Advertisement
The wording will be chosen according to the nature of the commercial relationship.
Disclosures will be written in clear language. They will not be hidden at the bottom of an article, placed only behind a link or presented in a way that an ordinary reader could easily miss.
Editorial Independence
Commercial relationships will not determine the psychological conclusions of our articles.
Affiliate partners will not be permitted to:
- select the conclusions of an article;
- alter research findings;
- approve editorial opinions before publication;
- suppress reasonable criticism;
- influence professional-help guidance; or
- require misleading psychological or health claims.
Editorial decisions will continue to be based on relevance, reader usefulness, available evidence and the purpose of The Psyche Inspire.
Receiving a commission will not make a product or service suitable for every reader.
How Products and Services May Be Selected
If affiliate recommendations are introduced, we intend to consider factors such as:
- relevance to the article and its readers;
- usefulness and accessibility;
- quality and transparency of the provider;
- available evidence for important claims;
- price and value;
- privacy and data practices;
- cancellation or refund terms;
- potential risks or limitations; and
- consistency with the values of The Psyche Inspire.
The availability of an affiliate programme will not be sufficient reason, by itself, to recommend a product or service.
A recommendation may be removed if credible concerns arise about quality, safety, privacy, misleading marketing or customer treatment.
Mental-Health Products and Services
Psychology and mental-health recommendations require particular care.
The Psyche Inspire will not present an affiliated product, application, course or service as a guaranteed treatment, diagnosis or cure.
If we discuss an online counselling platform, mental wellness application, assessment tool, book, course or self-help resource, readers should consider:
- the qualifications of the provider;
- the intended purpose of the service;
- whether it is appropriate for their needs;
- privacy and confidentiality practices;
- geographical or licensing limitations;
- costs and cancellation terms; and
- whether individual professional assessment is necessary.
An affiliate relationship will never turn a general recommendation into personalised psychological, medical or treatment advice.
Readers should consult an appropriately qualified professional when individual assessment or care is needed.
Personal Experience and Research
We will distinguish amongst the following:
- a resource personally used or reviewed by the author;
- a resource assessed through available information and research; and
- a general reference mentioned for educational purposes.
We will not claim personal experience with a product or service that we have not actually used.
Where a recommendation is based on research, publicly available information or professional literature rather than direct use, we will aim to make that context clear.
Affiliate compensation will not be presented as evidence that a product is effective.
Free Products, Services and Other Benefits
A material relationship is not limited to a cash payment.
If The Psyche Inspire or its author receives something of value in connection with coverage, this may include the following:
- a free product;
- complimentary access;
- a discounted service;
- a trial membership;
- travel or event access;
- a gift;
- a referral benefit; or
- another commercial advantage.
Any such relationship will be disclosed when it could reasonably affect how readers interpret the content.
Receiving a product or service does not guarantee positive coverage.
Sponsored Content
The Psyche Inspire does not currently publish sponsored content.
If sponsored content is introduced in the future, it will be labelled clearly with wording such as:
- Sponsored
- Paid partnership
- Advertisement
- Commissioned content
Sponsored content will remain subject to our editorial and safety standards.
A sponsor will not be permitted to disguise promotional claims as independent psychological guidance.
Further information will be available in our [Advertising and Sponsorship Policy].
Advertising Is Different From Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate links and display advertisements are different forms of monetisation.
With an affiliate link, the website may receive a commission after a qualifying action.
Display advertisements may generate revenue through impressions, clicks or other arrangements with an advertising provider.
The appearance of an advertisement does not mean that The Psyche Inspire has personally selected, used or endorsed the advertised product or service.
If advertisements are introduced, they will be governed by our [Advertising and Sponsorship Policy] and [Privacy Policy].
Prices, Availability and External Terms
Product prices, services, discounts and availability can change without notice.
The Psyche Inspire does not control the following:
- merchant pricing;
- product availability;
- delivery;
- warranties;
- refunds;
- subscriptions;
- cancellation rules; or
- customer support provided by an external business.
Information that was accurate when an article was published may later change.
Readers should review the current price, terms and policies on the merchant’s website before making a purchase or commitment.
External Websites and Transactions
Affiliate links direct readers to third-party websites.
Those websites operate under their own:
- terms and conditions;
- privacy policies;
- cookie practices;
- return policies; and
- customer-service arrangements.
The Psyche Inspire does not process payments or control transactions completed on an external merchant’s website.
Please review the external provider’s identity, qualifications, reputation and policies before sharing personal information or making a purchase.
Cookies and Affiliate Tracking
Affiliate providers may use cookies, tracking parameters or similar technologies to identify that a visitor reached their website through a link from The Psyche Inspire.
This tracking may allow the provider to attribute a qualifying purchase or action to our website.
When affiliate tracking is introduced, relevant information will be added to our [Privacy Policy]. Where required, visitors will also be given appropriate cookie and consent choices.
The practices of external merchants and affiliate networks are governed by their own privacy policies.
Reader Choice
Using an affiliate link is optional.
Readers may choose to:
- use the affiliate link;
- visit the provider directly;
- purchase from another provider; or
- decide not to purchase the product or service.
Choosing not to use an affiliate link will not restrict access to our ordinary educational articles.
Our central purpose will remain the publication of clear, compassionate and research-informed psychology content.
No Guarantee of Results
A recommendation does not guarantee that a product, programme, book, application or service will produce a particular result.
People have different needs, circumstances and responses.
Testimonials, examples and personal experiences should not be treated as promises of emotional, psychological, relational, medical or financial outcomes.
Readers remain responsible for deciding whether a product or service is appropriate for them.
Changes to This Disclosure
This Affiliate Disclosure may be updated when:
- The Psyche Inspire joins an affiliate programme;
- a new commercial relationship begins;
- affiliate or advertising practices change;
- a partnership ends;
- legal or industry guidance changes; or
- further clarification becomes necessary.
The latest version will appear on this page with a revised “Last reviewed and updated” date.
If affiliate marketing begins, we will also identify active affiliate relationships or programmes where appropriate.
