Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 July 2025
Last reviewed and updated: 01 September 2026

The Psyche Inspire respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you visit https://thepsycheinspire.com, why it may be collected, how it may be used and the choices available to you.

We believe privacy information should be clear. We have therefore written this policy in plain and understandable language wherever possible.

Who We Are

The Psyche Inspire is an independent educational website founded and operated by Sunil Prasad.

We publish research-informed articles about psychology, emotional well-being, relationships, self-growth and everyday human behaviour.

For questions about this Privacy Policy or personal information processed through the website, contact:

Website: The Psyche Inspire
Website address: https://thepsycheinspire.com
Owner: Sunil Prasad
Location: Asansol, West Bengal, India
Privacy email: contact@thepsycheinspire.com

The Psyche Inspire is an educational publication. It is not a mental-health clinic, healthcare provider or emergency-support service.

Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through:

  • The Psyche Inspire website;
  • article comments;
  • direct email communications;
  • cookies and similar website technologies;
  • website hosting, backups and content delivery;
  • connected administrative services; and
  • external content or services used by the website.

The website does not currently use:

  • a contact form;
  • Google Analytics 4;
  • Google AdSense advertising;
  • a newsletter subscription service;
  • affiliate tracking;
  • sponsored-content tracking; or
  • a separate anti-spam plugin.

If these services are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be reviewed and updated to reflect the resulting data practices.

This policy does not govern the privacy practices of external websites that you may visit through links from The Psyche Inspire.

Information You Provide Directly

You may voluntarily provide personal information when you:

  • leave a comment;
  • contact us by email;
  • report an error;
  • request a correction;
  • make a privacy request;
  • ask about counselling services;
  • request copyright permission; or
  • send another professional or editorial enquiry.

The information may include:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • website address, if voluntarily provided;
  • the contents of your comment or message;
  • the article or page connected with your enquiry; and
  • other information you choose to include.

Please share only the information reasonably needed for your enquiry.

Do not send medical records, detailed psychological histories, financial information, government identification numbers, passwords or other highly sensitive information through public comments or general email.

Counselling Enquiries

Sunil Prasad provides counselling services independently and outside The Psyche Inspire website.

An initial counselling enquiry may contain your name, email address and limited information about the type of support you are seeking.

Please provide only the minimum information needed to ask about availability, communication arrangements or general service terms.

Sending an enquiry does not automatically create a counsellor-client relationship. If counselling is separately discussed and formally established, additional privacy, consent, confidentiality and record-handling terms may apply to that professional engagement.

General website content and ordinary website communications remain separate from any independently arranged counselling service.

The website and its general email address are not monitored as crisis-support services.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the website, limited technical information may be processed automatically by WordPress, Hostinger, the content-delivery network and related infrastructure.

This may include:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • browser type and version;
  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • referring page or website;
  • requested page;
  • date and time of access;
  • server and error logs;
  • security and performance information; and
  • general network request information.

This information may be used to:

  • deliver the website;
  • maintain website security;
  • diagnose technical problems;
  • prevent misuse;
  • support backups;
  • improve reliability;
  • deliver cached content efficiently; and
  • maintain administrative records.

The Psyche Inspire does not currently use Google Analytics 4 to create visitor analytics reports.

Public Comments

Comments are enabled on articles. Comments are reviewed before publication.

When you submit a comment, WordPress may collect:

  • the information entered in the comment form;
  • your IP address; and
  • your browser user-agent string.

This information supports comment processing, moderation, security and prevention of misuse.

If your comment is approved, your name, comment and profile image may become visible publicly.

Comments reflect the views of their contributors. Publication does not mean that The Psyche Inspire has verified or endorsed every statement.

Please do not include:

  • medical information;
  • private family details;
  • personal contact information;
  • identifying information about another person; or
  • information you do not want publicly accessible.

We may decline, edit or remove comments that contain spam, harmful advice, misleading health claims, abusive content, undisclosed promotion or private information.

Reasonable edits may be made for formatting, clarity or removal of personal information without intentionally changing the contributor’s meaning.

Gravatar

An anonymised string created from the email address submitted with a comment, sometimes called a hash, may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use that service.

If your comment is approved, your Gravatar profile image may appear publicly beside your comment.

Gravatar is operated by Automattic. You can review Automattic’s privacy information at: https://automattic.com/privacy/

If you do not use Gravatar, a default profile image may be displayed.

Direct Email Communications

The website currently receives enquiries through:

contact@thepsycheinspire.com

When you send an email, we may process your:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • message;
  • attachments, if any;
  • date and time of communication; and
  • subsequent correspondence.

This information may be used to:

  • respond to your enquiry;
  • review an article correction;
  • address a privacy concern;
  • consider a topic suggestion;
  • respond to a counselling enquiry;
  • assess a professional proposal;
  • address copyright or accessibility matters; or
  • maintain an appropriate record of correspondence.

Email is not guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not send sensitive records or information that is unnecessary for the enquiry.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on a device when a website is visited. Similar technologies may include local storage, tags and cached identifiers.

The website currently uses or may use cookies needed for ordinary WordPress functions, comment preferences, administrative access, security and website delivery.

Comment Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies.

This is a convenience feature. It prevents you from entering the same information again when leaving another comment.

These cookies may remain on your device for up to one year, depending on WordPress settings and your browser.

Administrative Cookies

WordPress may use login, authentication, preference and session cookies for authorised website administrators.

These cookies support secure administration and are not intended to create advertising profiles of ordinary readers.

Necessary and Performance Technologies

Hostinger, the active CDN and related infrastructure may use necessary technologies or process request information to:

  • deliver website pages;
  • cache content;
  • balance traffic;
  • protect network availability;
  • detect technical problems; and
  • improve loading performance.

The Psyche Inspire does not currently use advertising cookies, affiliate cookies or Google Analytics cookies.

Current Consent Status

The website does not currently use Google AdSense, Google Analytics 4, affiliate tracking or a newsletter service.

For that reason, a separate advertising consent-management platform has not yet been activated.

Necessary website technologies may still operate because they support basic delivery, security, administration or comment preferences.

If non-essential analytics, advertising or marketing technologies are introduced, we will:

  • reassess whether consent is required;
  • update this Privacy Policy;
  • configure appropriate consent controls;
  • identify relevant providers; and
  • provide a way to manage or withdraw applicable choices.

Site Kit by Google

The official Site Kit by Google plugin is installed on the website.

Site Kit allows the website owner to connect and view information from selected Google services within the WordPress administration area.

Google Analytics 4 is not currently connected or active through Site Kit.

Installing Site Kit does not, by itself, mean that every Google service available through the plugin is enabled.

Site Kit may be used for administrative functions such as:

  • confirming site ownership;
  • connecting to Google Search Console;
  • viewing website search-performance information; and
  • preparing future integrations selected by the website owner.

The website owner may also choose whether to share anonymised plugin-usage information with Google through Site Kit settings.

Google processes information under its own policies. You can review:

If Google Analytics, AdSense, Tag Manager or another visitor-facing Google service is activated through Site Kit, this Privacy Policy and any required consent settings will be updated.

Hosting, Server Location and Backups

The Psyche Inspire is hosted by Hostinger.

According to the website owner’s current hosting configuration:

  • the primary website server is located in India; and
  • website backups are stored in Singapore.

Website files, databases, logs and backup copies may therefore be processed or stored in India and Singapore.

Hostinger may process limited technical and account-related information as necessary to provide:

  • website hosting;
  • server operation;
  • technical support;
  • backups;
  • security;
  • availability; and
  • infrastructure maintenance.

Hostinger processes information according to its contractual terms and privacy practices.

Server names, infrastructure and backup locations may change if the hosting plan or provider configuration changes. We will update this policy when such a change materially affects website data processing.

Content-Delivery Network

A content-delivery network, or CDN, is active on the website.

A CDN stores or delivers temporary copies of website content from network locations that can respond efficiently to visitors.

In providing this service, the CDN may process:

  • IP addresses;
  • browser and device information;
  • requested URLs;
  • timestamps;
  • network and performance information; and
  • security-related request data.

Although the primary hosting server is in India and backups are stored in Singapore, CDN traffic may be routed or processed through network infrastructure in other locations.

CDN processing is used for delivery, availability and performance. It is not currently used by The Psyche Inspire for personalised advertising.

SSL and Website Security

The website uses an active SSL certificate. This enables HTTPS encryption between a visitor’s browser and the website.

We also use hosting and infrastructure controls intended to support website availability, backups and secure administration.

However, no website, email system or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Visitors should avoid sharing information that is not reasonably necessary.

If we become aware of a data-security incident, we will assess it and take actions required by applicable law and the circumstances.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 is not currently active on The Psyche Inspire.

The website therefore does not currently use GA4 cookies or GA4 measurement tags to generate visitor analytics.

If Google Analytics is introduced in the future, we will:

  • update this section before or when tracking begins;
  • explain the categories of information collected;
  • identify the purposes of analytics;
  • review data-retention settings;
  • configure appropriate consent controls;
  • assess Google signals and advertising features separately; and
  • provide applicable privacy choices.

The installation of Site Kit should not be interpreted as confirmation that Google Analytics is active.

Future Google AdSense Advertising

Google AdSense is not currently active on The Psyche Inspire.

The website may apply for and use Google AdSense in the future.

If Google AdSense is activated:

  • third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve advertisements based on a visitor’s previous visits to this website or other websites;
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve advertisements based on visits to this website and other websites;
  • advertising providers may process IP addresses, device information, cookie identifiers, ad impressions and interaction information;
  • advertisements may be personalised, non-personalised or limited, depending on location, settings and consent; and
  • additional advertising providers may be identified through the applicable consent interface or privacy information.

Before activating advertising for regions where consent is required, The Psyche Inspire will configure an appropriate consent management platform and update this Privacy Policy where necessary.

Future Newsletter

The Psyche Inspire does not currently offer a newsletter subscription.

If a newsletter is introduced, readers will be informed:

  • what information is collected;
  • which email-service provider is used;
  • why the information is processed;
  • how consent is recorded;
  • how frequently emails may be sent;
  • how to unsubscribe; and
  • how long subscriber information is retained.

Newsletter subscription will be voluntary. A clear unsubscribe option will be included in marketing emails.

The Privacy Policy will be updated before or when subscriber information begins to be collected.

Future Contact Form

The website does not currently use a contact form.

If a contact form is added, we will identify or account for:

  • the form provider;
  • the information collected;
  • whether submissions are stored in WordPress;
  • the recipient email address;
  • the retention period;
  • the anti-spam service, if any; and
  • the purpose of processing.

A required privacy acknowledgement will be provided where appropriate.

Until then, visitors may contact The Psyche Inspire by direct email.

Future Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content

The Psyche Inspire does not currently participate in an affiliate programme and does not publish sponsored content.

If affiliate links are introduced, an affiliate provider may use cookies or tracking parameters to attribute a qualifying purchase or action to this website.

Before or when affiliate tracking begins, we will:

  • update this Privacy Policy;
  • identify relevant tracking practices;
  • provide article-level commercial disclosures;
  • update the Affiliate Disclosure; and
  • configure consent controls where required.

Further information is available in our [Affiliate Disclosure].

Embedded Content

Articles may contain embedded material from other websites, such as videos, images, social-media posts, charts or other resources.

Embedded content may behave as though you visited the external provider directly.

The external provider may:

  • collect information about your device or visit;
  • use cookies;
  • apply third-party tracking;
  • monitor interaction with the embedded material; or
  • connect that interaction with an account you hold with its service.

The Psyche Inspire does not control the privacy practices of external providers.

Please review the provider’s privacy policy before interacting with embedded content.

External Links

The Psyche Inspire links to research papers, universities, government resources, professional organisations and other websites.

Following an external link takes you away from The Psyche Inspire.

The destination website applies its own:

  • privacy policy;
  • cookies;
  • security practices;
  • terms; and
  • data-processing arrangements.

A link does not mean that The Psyche Inspire controls how the external website processes personal information.

How We Use Information

Subject to applicable law, information may be used to:

  • operate and maintain the website;
  • publish and moderate comments;
  • respond to emails;
  • address corrections and reader feedback;

  • respond to initial counselling enquiries;
  • secure and troubleshoot the website;
  • prevent misuse;
  • maintain backups;
  • improve website reliability;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

We do not use information submitted through comments or email to diagnose visitors or create advertising profiles about their mental health.

Grounds for Processing

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, personal information may be processed on one or more of the following grounds:

Consent

We may rely on consent when you voluntarily submit information, select optional cookies or subscribe to a future service that requires consent.

Legitimate Interests

Information may be processed or retained when required to comply with applicable law, a valid legal request or regulatory responsibility.

Legal Rights

Information may be used when reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

How Information May Be Shared

We do not sell personal information for money.

Information may be processed by providers that support website operation, including:

  • Hostinger;
  • WordPress-related infrastructure;
  • the active CDN;
  • email-service infrastructure;
  • backup systems;
  • Google services connected through Site Kit;
  • Gravatar or Automattic when applicable; and
  • professional advisers where reasonably necessary.

Information may also be disclosed:

  • when required by law;
  • in response to a valid legal request;
  • to protect a person’s safety;
  • to investigate fraud, misuse or a security incident;
  • to protect website rights and infrastructure; or
  • as part of a lawful transfer or change in website ownership.

Service providers may process information according to their own terms, privacy policies and contractual responsibilities.

International Data Processing

The Psyche Inspire is operated from India.

The primary hosting server is currently located in India. Website backups are stored in Singapore. CDN and external-service processing may occur in additional countries.

Data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws where a visitor lives.

Where required, we will rely on appropriate contractual, consent-based or other lawful safeguards for international processing.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Comments

Approved comments and related metadata may be retained while the discussion remains published and relevant.

A comment may be removed when:

  • the contributor makes an eligible request;
  • it contains private information;
  • it violates website policies;
  • legal obligations require removal; or
  • the underlying article or discussion is removed.

Email Enquiries

Ordinary email enquiries may be retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful communication unless:

  • a shorter period is appropriate;
  • the sender requests eligible deletion;
  • the correspondence becomes part of a separate counselling engagement;
  • the information is needed for legal or administrative reasons; or
  • a longer period is required by law.

Server Logs

Technical logs may be retained for limited periods determined by operational, security and hosting requirements.

Backups

Deleted or updated information may remain temporarily in secure backup copies until the relevant backup is overwritten or expires under the hosting schedule.

Counselling Records

If an initial enquiry develops into a separately established counselling relationship, related professional records may be governed by separate consent, confidentiality and retention arrangements.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law and your location, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether we process information associated with you;
  • request access to eligible information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • update information you provided;

  • withdraw consent;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • request information in a portable format where applicable;
  • opt out of eligible advertising uses;

We may request reasonable information to verify your identity. This helps prevent unauthorised access to or deletion of another person’s information.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Managing Cookies and Future Consent Choices

You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

Depending on the browser, you may:

  • review stored cookies;
  • remove cookies;
  • block certain cookies;
  • restrict third-party cookies; or
  • receive a warning before cookies are stored.

Blocking all cookies may affect comment preferences or some website functions.

If a consent-management platform is introduced, a “Privacy Choices” or “Cookie Settings” link will be provided so that eligible visitors can review or change their choices.

Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Children’s Privacy

The Psyche Inspire publishes general educational content. It is not designed to collect personal information directly from children.

We do not knowingly request sensitive personal information from anyone under 18 through comments or general email.

A person under 18 should use communication features with the knowledge and guidance of a parent or legal guardian.

If you believe that a child has submitted personal information without appropriate permission, contact:

contact@thepsycheinspire.com

We will review the matter and take reasonable steps where appropriate.

Please remember:

  • approved comments are public;
  • general email may not be suitable for sensitive health information;
  • the website does not maintain clinical records for ordinary visitors;
  • articles do not provide individual diagnosis or treatment; and
  • email is not monitored as an emergency service.

Do not disclose another person’s medical, psychological or family information without lawful authority and appropriate consent.

If you need personalised support, contact an appropriately qualified professional.

If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services without delay.

We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through the website.
